ExxonMobil and SABIC jointly build a large petrochemical plant in the Gulf of Mexico

the two companies said that if they decided to develop the project, the site would be located in Texas or Louisiana, close to areas with abundant cheap natural gas supply. The project will also include a steam cracking unit that can produce chemicals for plastic products such as American football helmets or bulletproof vests

the two companies have not made a final investment decision, and plan to conduct further research and consult local government officials to help select a potential plant site, so that similar experimental models have similar operation interfaces. Neither company disclosed the estimated cost of establishing the joint venture plant
