Percentage of printing design and identification points
what you have to pay attention to and master in printing design, how to identify the percentage of points
Thedot is the basic unit to realize that the printed matter can reflect the different layout levels and the natural division of the color scale. It plays a role in determining the color, level and image outline of printed matter in printing. Therefore, only when the dot size is accurate can the original color be faithfully reproduced during plate making, so as to ensure that the printing process achieves better results
because the thickness of the printed page is expressed by the size of the dots, dots with different area sizes are commonly known as dots in technology. Only by accurately understanding the concept of dot ratio, can we better use dot printing to produce prints that are closest to the original color. Therefore, the percentage of recognition points is the knowledge that printing operators and quality inspectors should master. There are two methods to identify the percentage of points:
one is to measure the integral density of points with a densimeter, and then convert it into the percentage of point area. For example, if the integral density of points is 0.3, the point area is 50%. This method is more scientific and accurate
the other method is to use a magnifying glass to visually measure the ratio of point area to blank area. This method is intuitive and convenient, but due to experience, the error is large. Specifically:
identify the percentage of points within 50% according to the number of black points that can be accommodated by the gap between the two opposite sides
that is, three black dots of the same size can be placed in the gap between the two black dots on the opposite side, that is, 10% of the dots
if two points of the same size can be accommodated within the distance between the two points, it is called a binary point
if 1.5 dots of the same size can be placed between the two dots, it is called a 30% dot
if 1.5 dots of the same size can be placed between the two dots, it is called a 30% dot
if it is necessary to add appropriate fixtures; There is also some super hardness data that can accommodate one dot of the same size between two dots, that is, half of the black dots and half of the white dots in the unit area, that is, 50% of the dots
the discrimination of more than 50% points is measured by how many white points of the same size can be accommodated between the two white points on the opposite side. From the point arrangement law, the number of points contained in the space between the two white points is exactly the same between 60% and 40%; 70% and 30% are the same; 80% and 20% are the same; 90% is the same as 10%
the above situation shows that the so-called dot percentage is the percentage in unit area. For example, the percentage of 1 is 10%, the percentage of 2 is 20%, and so on. 100% is the field layout. According to the rough analysis of the arrangement of positive dots, if the black dots are larger than the white dots selected through network voting and expert selection, it will be more than 50%; If the black dot is smaller than the white dot, it is less than 50%. The larger the number of dots, the thicker the ink on the print layout, and vice versa
The area ofpoints determines the change of layout level. Generally, the layers on the screen are divided into three levels, that is, the high-profile level is composed of 1 to 3 points, so that bright parts are formed on the screen. The middle tone level represents the transition part of the picture, usually composed of 4 to 6 dots. The thick and dark pictures composed of 7 to 9 dots are low-key. The brightest place on the printing plate, that is, the highlight part is less than 10%
to sum up, only by accurately understanding the percentage of points, can we make better use of the law of point change to produce a printing plate that conforms to the original, rather than cooling down the house of work or life to print color printing products with accurate color and satisfactory quality, which is also the goal of quality management
in order to know more about the size ratio and actual change of the printing point in the magnifying glass, please refer to the example image below. I hope it will be helpful to you. There may be some deviation in the actual proportion, which is only for reference. The actual proportion is as described in the text
